Stevenage Enterprise Centre completes

A special event took place on 10th February to celebrate the completion of new business units in the centre of Stevenage.

The project marks a return to Stevenage Town Square following Ashe’s work there in 2021 to create open plan workspace for the Borough Council’s tenant, Co-Space.

The units provide flexible offices for a range of businesses including single-person startups to established financial services providers.

Following the success of units, the Council has used Towns Fund money through the Stevenage Development Board to expand into neighbouring Town Square Chambers.

Ashe started on this latest, £1.7m scheme in early October which included the fast-track design of the new units.

Preparatory work comprised asbestos removal and strip out of 12 existing units to create one open space, and renovation of the building’s façade.

New double glazing, roof insulation and PIR lighting have been installed, and the old gas heating system has been replaced with an efficient electrical system.

High specification meeting rooms, toilets, and kitchenettes have all be included and made ready for businesses to move straight in.

The project, procured under the Scape Regional Construction Framework, forms part of Stevenage Borough Council’s regeneration scheme to attract new commuters into the town.
