Ashe’s head of sustainability becomes Chartered Environmentalist

31.03.25

Congratulations to James Bisco, Ashe Group’s head of sustainability who has just achieved full membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and is now a Chartered Environmentalist.

The IEMA is a global professional body, founded 25 years ago, for anyone working in environment and sustainability. Members are from industry, businesses, academia and local government and are a community of environment and sustainability professionals wanting to make a real difference in their workplace. Certification is the gold standard for those wanting to set the sustainability agenda in their organisation.

To gain certification, James had to undertake a panel interview to demonstrate fifteen specific competencies such as Innovative and Leading Practices, Analytical Thinking, Delivering Sustainable Solutions, and technical understanding to develop the Ashe Group net zero plan and roadmap.  He also had to provide a 2000 word written submission documenting his experience and how this linked to the various competencies required for full membership.

James said: “I’m delighted to have been accepted. It’s been hard work but well worth it and the work doesn’t stop here as I have committed to continuous professional development to retain my full membership. I’d like to thank everyone at Ashe who has supported me along this journey.”

Andrew Morris, Ashe’s business development director said: “James has set the bar high for us at Ashe. We are proud of him for this achievement and the course he has set for the Group’s journey towards net zero.”

James is required to uphold the IEMA Code of Professional Conduct, and his membership proves he has a track-record in improving sustainability. Find out more about Ashe’s approach to sustainability.
