I’ve been given opportunities to help my career development such as volunteering, helping to run ceremonies and talking to students about my role.

I really enjoy helping people so I’m in the perfect job! My role is to assist people throughout the business whenever they need support.

I started working at Ashe on Fridays and during the summer, while I was studying criminology and policing at university. Since graduating, I decided to stay with Ashe because I felt this was the right route for me and would give me the best opportunity to progress. I made the right choice. I have a huge amount of variety in my work. From sending out orders for the buying team to get signed by subcontractors, and putting together site files for the site managers, or simply being there to help with any task that might pop up – I do all sorts of things.

I started as an assistant, but my role has changed from mainly office work to being able to support on any number of projects on site. This means my job changes every day and so does the scenery!

I can now confidently navigate our online systems and aid others who need help whether on site or at head office. I take weekly progress photographs to show how projects are developing and I help set up sites using a template for the specific cabins needed at that location.

I was very timid and shy when I started here but I’ve become more confident and have formed good relationships with the people in my team and colleagues throughout Ashe. I’ve been encouraged to achieve more than I ever thought I could, and I’ve been given opportunities to help my career development such as volunteering, helping to run ceremonies and talking to students about my role.

I’d like to explore the other roles within the company so I can gain a deeper understanding of their daily tasks because I think this would help me with my own job and open up new pathways for me to pursue.
